Conference Overview
A two-day conference held in North Bay, Ontario aimed at increasing the awareness of the importance of Interprofessional Collaboration.
The goal of this conference is to engage the health care community and health and human service educators in forwarding Interprofessional education, care and practice (IPE, IPC and IPP) as central to transforming the culture of health and human service education and services.
Program Description
The Northern Interprofessional Collaborators Conference will provide a venue for health professionals, educators and students to discuss interprofessional education, and practice by featuring best practices, providing evidence, showcasing outcomes, and describing lessons learned.
Interprofessional Care (IPC)/ Collaborative practice has been a critical part of most recent health human resources strategies. Designed as a client/patient centred approach to incorporate all members of the health care team, IPC has become reflective of broader changes in the health system starting with pre-licensure education.
Conference Themes
The conference themes were chosen to encourage discussion regarding:
Organizational awareness of the concepts of collaborative practice and interprofessional education
Cross-institutional collaboration and community stakeholder engagement
