| For Immediate Release: November 5, 2009 School of Recreation and Leisure Services Building Grand Opening This week, Canadore College is officially opening the new School of Recreation and Leisure Services building which allows for more flexible delivery modes for its students. “The new building has allowed the faculty to develop and implement a new, flexible, delivery system for all of our Recreation and Leisure programs that provides our learners with the theoretical knowledge and applied skills to effectively contribute at industry standard upon graduation,” said David Himmelman, Dean of Business, Communication Arts, Hospitality/Tourism/Culinary Arts and Recreation and Leisure. “The main classroom is set up as an electronic classroom and, this semester, two of our faculty have made all of their classes available to students either in a traditional face-to-face format or by using technology to participate in the class via the Contact North network.” The building is the former Canadore Day Care Centre and is located in the Upper Residence. A brief ceremony will take place on Friday, November 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. All media are welcome to attend. An Environment for Learning
