Launch your career in the aircraft maintenance industry with Canadore’s Aircraft Structural Repair program.

Specialize in the repair, upgrade and modification of the aviation industry’s aging commercial airplanes. Graduates of the Aircraft Structural Repair program are in high demand and many have been hired through on-site recruiting by aviation companies.

This program incorporates the Aircraft Structural Repair Technician curriculum that was developed for the industry by the Canadian Aviation Maintenance Council. It focuses on the maintenance, repair, and fabrication of aircraft structural components in response to industry and advisory board input.

In addition, the curriculum will prepare you with job entry skills including sheet metal layout, blueprint reading, structural repair of fuselages, wing and empennage sections, and heat and corrosion treatment. You will also receive extensive composite training including fiberglass, carbon and aramid fiber, hot bonding, wet lay-up, metal bonding, as well as a host of other job-related skills

Admission Requirements


Ontario Secondary School Diploma at or above the general level or its equivalent. Grade 12 English and Grade 11 or 12 Mathematics or equivalents are required.

Mature Students:
Applicants aged 19 or over without the OSSD will be considered on the basis of their results on the College’s Mature Student Test. 

Graduates of the new Ontario Secondary School Curriculum:
Ontario Secondary School Diploma with courses from the College (C), University (U), University/ College (M), or Open (O) preparation levels.

Required Courses:
Grade 12 Compulsory English (ENG 4C or ENG 4U) and any Grade 11 or 12 Mathematics (C), (U), or (M)

Attendance Policy

The attendance policy adopted by the School of Aviation conforms to the Transport Canada policy for Approved Training Organizations. To preserve a high standard of maintenance and flight safety, students having missed more than 5% (53 hours) of the course through absences will not qualify for the experience credit of 10 months that is applied to the 30 month Aircraft Maintenance Engineer-Category “S” apprenticeship.

ACCREDITATION
  • In addition to using the Canadian Aviation Maintenance Council (CAMC) curriculum, Canadore has CAMC accreditation. Air Canada’s hiring practice gives preference to individuals with CAMC accreditation.
  • Approved by Transport Canada.
  • Diploma entitles graduates to receive 10 months’ accreditation toward an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s License, Category “S”.
