Earn while you learn! The three-year Business Administration - Marketing (Co-op) program allows you to participate in a partnership between an employer, the college and you, the student. This unique arrangement gives you paid work experience in a chosen career field, which will enhance the educational component of the program and offer you expanded employment options upon graduation.

Canadore’s three-year Business Administration - Marketing (Co-op) program will help you develop a profile of skills required to enter the business community in a variety of roles.

This program is structured to prepare you for a successful career in marketing, with specific skills in the functional areas of industrial and consumer sales, retailing, advertising, market research and marketing management.

Develop marketing and advertising plans, perform market research, analyze consumer buying behaviour and marketing situations, deliver sales presentations, and develop marketing recommendations in this comprehensive program.

You will also acquire a broad base of business skills and knowledge in accounting, data processing, economics, statistics, communications and business management.

Canadore College’s Business Administration Marketing Program is accredited by the Canadian Institute of Marketing.
Admission Requirements


Ontario Secondary School Diploma at or above the level or its equivalent. Grade 12 English and Grade 12 Mathematics or equivalents are required.

Mature Students:
Ontario residents aged 19 or over without the OSSD will be considered on the basis of their results on the College’s Mature Student Test.

Graduates of the new Ontario Secondary School Curriculum:
Ontario Secondary School Diploma with courses from the College (C), University (U), University/College (M), or Open (O) preparation levels.

Required courses:
Grade 12 Compulsory English (ENG 4C or ENG 4U) and any Grade 12 Mathematics (C) or (U).

IMPORTANT NOTE
Business programs have a common first semester. If you wish to change to another Business program, you may do so after the first semester. The Business Administration - Marketing (Co-op) program is encouraged for those students wishing to further their business knowledge and training, or planning to attend university in the future.

Requirements for Graduation

To graduate with a three-year diploma, you must have a grade point average of 2.0 or more and at least 150 credits, and meet the requirements listed in the Business program’s handbook. Normally, you must complete the courses listed. In certain instances, substitutions may be permitted with the authorization of the coordinator. You must also have successfully completed two co-op work terms.

Students who complete the six academic semesters but do not complete the work term requirements will graduate with a Business Administration / Marketing diploma.

CERTIFICATIONS & DESIGNATIONS

Certain courses within the program will enable you to obtain credit toward certification with professional groups such as the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario and the Ontario Management Development Program.

With the successful completion of four semesters in the Business Administration - Marketing Co-op program, students are eligible for the Ontario Management Development Program (OMDP) leadership certificate, recognized by both private and public sector employers. Attendance and grade conditions apply.
