Recreation and Leisure Services Administration

This three-year program is affiliated with Canadore’s School of Hospitality and Tourism and is ideally suited for people wishing to pursue recreation careers in tourism and resort settings. The Recreation and Leisure Services Administration program offers students advanced levels of theory and practice in management and administration.

The first two years of the program are identical to the Recreation and Leisure Services program and provide students with essential skills and practical experiences required to enjoy successful and rewarding careers in a variety of recreation settings.

In the third year, Recreation and Leisure Services Administration students are integrated with Canadore’s Hospitality and Tourism students. Through case study analysis, students are challenged to apply administrative solutions to real-life situations. Theory is put into practice when students work collaboratively in teams to develop, operate, and manage their own businesses.

Class projects, course assignments, and work placements, are carefully designed to allow students to explore individual areas of interest while acquiring the skills and confidence to qualify for meaningful employment as recreation and leisure service administrators.
