Sport Conditioning

Be part of a rewarding profession working with individuals and sports teams from the recreation to the elite level. Canadore College’s unique two-year Sport Conditioning Diploma program teaches you the skills and techniques needed to help athletes reach their maximum physical potential. The Sport Conditioning program is designed for athletes, coaches, or trainers who have experience in sport and fitness.

Today, there is an increasing need for certified professionals in sport conditioning. Athletes of all ages and abilities now demand more than just general fitness programs. They want sport conditioning: functional and athletic training aimed at greater strength, power, speed, agility, coordination and balance.

This specialized program is a fusion of theory and practical experience. In the theory portion students will learn general exercise principles, nutrition, and sport specific science. The practical will consist of advanced training in weightlifting, agility, plyometrics, balance, and sprint training for athletes.

Students will plan and deliver sport specific conditioning programs for teams and individuals and will receive classroom and gym/athletic field instruction and practical coaching experience.
