Canadore Scores with Varsity Basketball

This Friday, the media is invited to a short celebration to welcome Varsity Basketball back to Canadore and the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA).

Over 25 elite athletes from across Canada and the globe will be vying for 16 positions on the Panthers Varsity Basketball team in September 2012.

The Panthers have a long history of success in the OCAA Basketball League, winning a Division I Silver Medal at the 1991-1992 Provincial Championships as well as two Division II Gold Medals at the 1985-1986 and 1988-1989 Provincial Championships.  During the 1991-1992 season, the team was ranked nationally in the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association.

Join several of our elite basketball athletes, the Director of Athletics, Linda Turcotte and Head Coach Leo Bechard at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 15 in the Education Centre Gym.

Canadore provides access to over 60 full-time quality programs and has outstanding faculty and student services. The College graduates approximately 1,000 students and has over 37,000 alumni.
