There is an increasing need for certified professionals in strength and sport conditioning. This specialized program, designed for athletes, coaches, or trainers who have experience in sport and fitness, will teach you the skills and techniques needed to help individual athletes or sports teams reach their maximum physical potential.

Strength and sport conditioning is athletic training aimed at greater strength, power, speed, agility, coordination and balance. You will learn general exercise principles, nutrition, and sport-specific science, along with practical advanced training in weightlifting, agility, plyometrics, balance, and sprint training for athletes.

Note: Students will complete 400 hours of practical work placement, including a seven week internship, under the guidance and supervision of a recreation professional.

Obtain two diplomas in three years! Graduates are eligible to transfer directly into the second year of the Recreation and Leisure Services program or the Recreation Therapy program.

Additional Credentials: 

Dual Diploma Option

The program curriculum is designed to offer students the opportunity to obtain two diplomas in three years. Graduates are eligible to transfer directly into Canadore's Recreation Therapy program or Canadore's Strength and Sport Conditioning program. These transfer options enable students to obtain a second diploma within a year.
