The Director of Finance & Controller is accountable for the management of College Funds, Endowments and for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of College financial accounting services and systems in the areas of:

  • Cash handling                                  
  • Treasury functions
  • Operational accounting (accounts receivable/payable, invoicing, cash receipts, purchasing and general accounting and balance sheet reconciliations)
  • Financial reporting & control systems
  • Monitoring expenditures in alignment with operating and capital budget principles and procedures
  • Financial analysis

The incumbent will play a key role in ensuring that the financial health and integrity of the College is maintained and protected.  All transactions which involve a financial component or effect are controlled, recorded, tracked and reported on by the Financial Services, with management and statutory reports being prepared and audited, as required.   Additional responsibilities include but not limited to the review of contracts and implementation of control procedures to ensure the accounting and record keeping of contract revenue is accurate, and in accordance to contract terms.

Under the jurisdiction of the Chief Financial Officer, The Director of Finance & Controller is accountable to provide senior level leadership for development, implementation and maintenance of college revenues and expenditures, costing models for programs and activities, and is responsible for controlling financial risks to the College by identifying areas of concern and assisting with recommendations to reduce exposure to risk.  The incumbent will provide leadership and management for support activities to the Endowment Committee, Canadore’s Student Council, subsidiary corporations, and all regional campuses to support their financial operational and reporting requirements.

As an ambassador and advocate for the college, the Director will enhance the financial services portfolio and play a role in supporting the College’s commitment to its 5 Pillars; Student Success, Program and Service Excellence, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Connection to Community and Sustainability.

Reporting to the Dean, Faculty of Arts, Design and Entrepreneurship, the Director, Academic Operations and Business Development is responsible for providing leadership and management to the day-to-day operations of the School of Culinary Arts and the School of Art and Design.

The incumbent will execute a range of management functions as a member of the Academic Leadership Team and will administer aspects of the College’s Strategic Academic Plan with special focus on business development opportunities. The Director will actively foster relationships internally and externally and support strategies to attract students to the College. MANAGER – INDIGENOUS RESEARCH AND BUSINESS RELATIONS

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director, First Peoples’ Centre and Indigenous Engagement, the Manager, Indigenous Research and Business Relations will be responsible to carry forward the College’s strategic plan with respect to building and maintaining positive Indigenous and business relations. 

The incumbent will liaise with researchers both internally and externally if the research projects relate to Indigenous Peoples and/or communities.  The Manager will seek out opportunities to establish positive working relationships with Indigenous communities and corporations to improve employment and education prospects for the Indigenous population. 

Through proactive planning, the Manager will work with College partners to create training opportunities that lead to meaningful capacity development, joint partnerships and increased education and training for Indigenous learners.  The Manager will ensure a positive reputation that is consistent with the mission and vision and commitment to its 5 Pillars; Student Success, Program and Service Excellence, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Connection to Community and Sustainability.
